bio

A confessed ponderer, Linsly wrestles to live and
engrain each moment. A cowgirl poet, she drinks too many mochas a day in order to fuel the constant search for a country to roam bigger than her native Texas.

Growing up, Linsly moved every eighteen months and
metabolized change through journaling and sketching. In an attempt to etch life, she's an avid moment-catcher through photography, art and poetry. A travel junkie, Linsly road trips regularly, glob trots occasionally and itinerary plots religiously.

When not traveling, writing or imaging, Linsly splits her time between selling arts and crafts on the internet at www.joann.com, running barefoot in the sand and practicing yoga. She and her muse husband, Chris, live in Hermosa Beach, California.

Racehorse

Accelerating,
Bucking and racing and sprinting
Dashing
As I try
Try try try
To reign her in

Swooshing
Blazing and laughing and kicking in stride
Flying
As I stretch
To drag her back from a full, open run
To a kind, generous trot

I beg for a break
Craving a journey
Slow enough
To sear all she is showing me
into the infinity of my soul

She mocks my coaxing
Tossing her head
As I grasp to harness her pace

She leaps high to remind me
The saddle
   And harness
      And reigns
Are of my world
Not hers

She laughs
At full throttle
As she streaks through each moment
This Racehorse
    She is
    My life.
