    Ron Lucas is an autodidactic, former factory and warehouse laborer. His poetry has appeared, off and on, in various publications for decades. His first collection, entitled The Mother Goose Market, was published on April 1st, 2017.

   

 

Eschatology

The world would end,

I was always taught,
In the year 2000
In a downpour
Of fire.

Not, as it did,

In 2002
In a slow, chilly, drizzle
And a disappearing
Of taillights.
