Counter Act

An empty bottle of wine
A suitcase never unpacked

Call for you
Every night
Like clockwork
We don't talk

We tic
We don't sleep
We knock
Self-help like an old woman's

gums worn away enough
those dentures will never fit
eye-teeth, molars, incisors
I've gnawed a lot of rock
In the cavity of cold--
The room has mosquito netting
