bio

My name is Dalia Elmanzalawy. Having only recently discovered that I have a passion for poetry, I realized that is has been such an effective way for me to release my frustrations and feelings in a substantial and healthy way. I hope that my very candid work can inspire others to find their own peace and solace. We all deserve that much.

Who Waters Who

your eyes were drawn to the most radiant flower
and so you uprooted her from her home
she seemed to illuminate the space around her,
as she sat by your bedside, smiling down on you
and you saw her quickly wilt away
leaf after leaf, petal after petal
crashing down as the days swept on
you said, "nothing lasts, my dear, everything must go"
as your eyes traveled to the next beautiful flower
and so you wrenched her out as well
