W. Scott Fisher briefly attended the University of Texas in 1972, lived in Peru, and then completed a degree in English at Iowa State University where he studied under the poets Gus Gustafson and Melvin Wilke. He additionally, and briefly studied under Richard Brautigan at Montana State University in 1982, and then, under Nelson Bentley PhD, a once-student and disciple of Theodore Roethke at the University of Washington. He has also studied poetry and drama at the University of Washington in Seattle, as well as acting at The Lee Strasburg Actor's Workshop. He currently resides in Olympia, WA.
