Sam Skow has performed under a few different aliases, the most notorious being Barnabus Briefchatter and Buddha Hat. As Barnabus Briefchatter, Sam's work was published in Lydia Lunch's online publication Sex and Guts Magazine. Buddha Hat was a member of the 2003 Los Angeles Slam Team, which took home the national championship that year.
All of this is irrelevant, though, because Sam denounces everything that he has ever written prior to his latest (only) chapbook Fighting Cancer with Coughdrops. Sam doesn't see the sense in writing bios (or referring to himself in the third person, for that matter) because all of my writing is pretty self-absorbed and the picture should be pretty clear who I think (obsessively, I admit) I am. Whatever. I guess this Web site just wants the "human angle."
