Cranial Forecast |
There is a warm spot on the back of his head
where the central nervous system is gridlocked
with emotion,
he tries to see, but can only feel
the intensity
a weather system; overcast, cumulonimbus
and thundery
he wades through
so much runoff,
it climbs up over his shoes, cold fingers,
pull his pants, legs down
weight of sense water
he makes it to the car
pushes seat back, cracks sunroof,
slightly lowers back windows
he needs to drive, breathe,
needs relief,
then… blankets, sleep,
when he arrives
after the long journey
on the far side
of this storm.
