Marcielle Brandler obtained her Master's degree in Professional Writing and Poetry in 1994. Her poems, which are published internationally, been translated into Czech, French, Arabic, and Spanish. Her poem, The Civilian, The Siege, was praised by Evelyn McDonnell of LA Weekly as one of the best in the CD anthology called Disclosure. In 1994 and 1995, Marcielle helped organize and host International PEN's Celebration of Banned Books in Santa Monica. Marcielle is a college English teacher, associate film producer, photographer, judge in poetry competitions, poetry reading host and organizer, mentor, writer, volunteer, and member of various organizations, including the Alameda Writers Group.
Marcielle's poem, "Lark in the High Desert," appeared in Eclipse: A Literary Journal in 2003. Her book of poems, The Breathing House, is available for purchase.
